How to acheive success at the Circulation Desk

   It can be daunting when entering a strange new library for the first time. Be not frightened. The staff at Holman Library have been trained to help you with all your information needs.

 

Here are some tips that will help you when approaching the desk on the first floor we like to call the Circ Desk.

 

-Know what you want. Be it a book, directions, or a latte. The crystal ball that the Circ staff used to have was damaged in an unfortunate bowling accident.

-When asking for a course reserve item, the more you know about the class it is for, the better. Please know what class it is for, who your instructor is, or at least the title of the item you are looking for. Remember, our crystal ball is cracked.

-If you need to borrow something from Circ, picture ID is required.

-Be prepared to do a little dance or sing if you want to ask the staff for a favor. They like to have fun and their dance moves need to be updated.

-When coming to the desk to ask a question, please refrain from talking on your cell phone since this can render you invisible to staff until your call ends.

 

 

Following these easy tips can ensure you a successful transaction at the Circ Desk or at least a little fun.
