Howard Zinn

Writer, activist, playwright - Howard Zinn died on January 27, 2010. He wrote of the powerless and the active roles they have played in the achievements of others. His most popular work was the bestselling "A People's History of the United States." He summed up his professional philosophy as, quote, "I prefer to try to tell the story of the Constitution from the standpoint of the slaves, of Andrew Jackson as seen by the Cherokees, of the rise of industrialism as seen by the young women in the Lowell textile mills."
