Textbooks Lost...And Found!

GRCC Student Lauren lost two very expensive class textbooks and was understandably concerned.

Worry turned to happiness when she asked Mike, the librarian on duty at the Holman Library's second floor Reference desk, if they had been turned in to Lost and Found.

There they were!

Lauren wanted to share her gratitude toward the honest, anonymous person who did the right thing:

"Thank you so much to whoever returned my textbooks to the library's reference desk! I am so appreciative!"

Mark Your Calendars!

 Need a Flu Shot?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), "Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death." Yikes!

Want to limit your chances of getting the flu this fall and winter season? Thanks to the folks at the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association, you can do just that by receiving a flu shot next month.

The flu vaccine, which must be given each year, "protects against the influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season." So mark your calendars and get to campus, for on Monday, October 20th from 9:00am-11am, current students can go to the Baker room in the Lindbloom Student Center and get a flu shot for only $25

Want to know more about the flu?
The Holman Library has a lot of information about influenza and vaccinations; find books, streaming videos, and articles about the history of this infectious disease, prevention, and even fictional stories about past pandemics.
